Rectifications of Shaykh Ghulam Rasool Saeedi in his Tafseer “Tibyan ul Quran” on Tafseer “Tafheem ul Quran of Maulana Maudoodi

Abstract

Rectification (Istedrak) is an Islamic terminology which mean correction of mistake, completion of deficiency and clarification of ambiguity, Rectification in the Muslim Ummah started from the time of Sahabah which is followed by Tabieen and used by the Muslim Scholars upto date. There are so many example of rectifcation and criticism in the time of Sahabah and Tabieen to complete the deficiency and correct the mistake like “Al-Mustadrak ala Sahehain” by Imam Hakim (405 AH) in which He collected the narrations missed by Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim in their books “Saheeh Bukhari” and “Saheeh Muslim”. The Muslim Scholars were following this methodology and they rectify and refine the previous Tafseer, Hadith books. Imam Fakhr uddin Razi (606 AH) rectified other Scholars in his tafseer “Mafateeh ul Ghaib”. In addition there is a lot of examples of Rectification in the Tafseer of Imam Suyooti (911 AH) named by Al Dur Al Mansoor and in tafseer Al Bahrul Muheet of Abu Hayyan (745 AH), while the Tafseer Ruhul Maani by Imam Shahab uddin Aalausi (1270 AH) is very famous in this regard. Among these Honourable Scholars is Shaykh Ghulam Rasool Saeedi (1437 AH) a contemporary Islamic Scholars the author of Tafseer “Tibyan ul  Quran”, and He analysis and has rectified in his Tafseer on tafseer “Tafheem ul Quran” written by Maulana Syed Abul Aalaa Maudoodi (1979 AD). Maulana Maudoodi was a Prominent Scholars, Writer and Interpreter of the Holy Quran. His Tafseer is very famous among Modern Educated people. We select here in this Article some issues in the Tafseer of Maulana Maudoodi and then we analyzed it critically in the light of the explanations of  the Prominent Exigets and Scholars work. These rectifications are of various kinds such as Exegetical, Juristically, Grammatical, and Linguistically etc. Furthermore both Scholars have discussed their opinions fairly and impartially with arguments and juistice. And they were polite and courteous in Rectifications even having difference of opinions and school of thoughts.
