Abstract

Religious Tolerance is an emerging topic now a days. The UNO declared the 2001 year of  religious tolerance. Many International conferences have been held to discuss & promote this sense among global community. Islam has the privilege to develop religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence since its first regime through the ever first written charter of Madinah between Muslims, Jews and other nations. This article sheds light on basic rules and regulations of religious tolerance derived from Quran and Sunnah along with live examples from the practices of early Muslims, thus providing a significant paradigm in this era. So it is an attempt of revival of those golden values that have been forgotten by many of us in the hardships of life today.
