Abstract

Hafiz Ibn Hajar Al- Asqalani (1372- 1449) is one of the most prominent literary figure, writer and Islamic scholar of fourteenth century in Muslim world. His life work constitutes the final summation of the science of Hadith. He authored more than 150 books on hadith, history, biography, tafsir, poetry and Shafi,ite jurisprudence & the most valuable contribution is  his commentary on Sahih Bukhar, titled Fath al Bari. This book is most celebrated Hadith commentary on Sahi bukhari. This articles presents the methods and worth of this book along with his biography. It is reported that it took almost twenty five years to complete this book. This book has been declared the most magnificent achievement of exegetical discourse. The purpose of this research is to analyze his contributions and writing style. The method used in this research is descriptive, analytical and qualitative. The study found that his writing style was unique and comprehensive. The study also recognized him a great socio- religious scholar of all times.
