Abstract

In these days, it is a general perception that Muslims are involved in terrorism due to the sectarian conflicts. Ulama, belonging to the various sects, issue the verdicts of kufr (infidelity) against the followers of the other sects, which causes the assassination of the Muslims at the hands of Muslims. Due to this sectarian conflict western nations blame that it is the teaching of Islam that motivates its followers to become extremist as well as fundamentalist. As a matter of fact Islam provides universal and fundamental principles of life which consists of social justice, equality, lenience and world brotherhood. It also teaches and preaches to care about  the rights of minorities. This research paper highlights the real and original face of Islam about religious sectarianism so that the Western conception about Islam can be nullified and we could tell the world that Islam is not a religion of conflicts but a symbol of peace.
